Ugh...I work at a law firm that represents a lot of big banks in foreclosures. The new legislation seriously is not helping things. Banks just keep fucking up and they have to discontinue and recommence the actions before the courts find out that they've fucked up. This allows people to stay in their homes longer, but it doesn't help them at all with their financial troubles paying the mortgage. The banks just aren't listening.
We have so many files that are on hold just sitting there collecting dust. We're just waiting for the banks to let us know if they followed the rules properly this time, or if they are actually prepared to "attend" settlement conferences (attend by phone, usually). They just keep dragging their feet.
