My mom mentioned at dinner last night about Donald Trump investigating his birth certificate and how he had a point. One of the women she works with listens to Sean Hannity all the time and told her all about it.
God help me my father literally started yelling (YELLING) about how a record of birth is not the same thing and that McCain showed his....which he did not...so yeah.
Despite my mother, my husband and myself asking him, "So the election officials who were great with his documents, the other people who saw it, the pictures and the fact no other president had to do this...doesn't make you logically think it's all ok?!"
People care because it's laid out in the Constitution that the president must be born in America. It's law here that you cannot be president if you weren't born in the country. So that's why people are making a big deal out of it; if he wasn't born in the US, he's not permitted to hold his position, and he's been president illegally all this time.
But the argument is ridiculous because uhhhh there are people who check that stuff! If he wasn't born in the US, HE WOULDN'T BE PRESIDENT.
