Goddamn, what assholes.

And HOW does net neutrality discourage network investment---isn't the magic competitive free market supposed to reward the networks that DO invest with more customers as the public seeks alternatives to the slow and crappy service of any provider that hasn't kept up with the infrastructure?

Assholes.

At least I can maybe look forward to Verizon and cohorts losing market share to stuff like Cricket that offer unlimited-at-one-price options. They're counting on bloc monopoly to make this pay-extra-for-data, slowdown-competition crap the new industry standard, and I would be very happy to see them disappointed and foiled. (It'd help if Cricket bothered to show where it had service, and offered it in my area, but I have hopes that it'll get its ass over here by the time I decide I need a smartphone.)

Pfffff, if only they'd follow their own guidelines. But no, "free market" just means We'll Give Companies All The Freedom They Want Even If It Infringes On Everyone Else's Freedom And If They Fuck Up We'll Save Their Asses Via Bailouts

"Regulatory capture"

Any government interference in the market will be used by private interests to limit and control content.

I do not trust the group that freaked out over janet jackson's boob to regulate my internet.

What, like they won't do it worse without the government "interference?"

I trust the group that freaked out over Janet Jackson's boob a whole lot more than I trust the people who can make a few bucks by nickel-and-diming me over my internet usage, and who can bump up their own market share by limiting my access to their competition.

The internet was created to be free and open-sourced, not to be controlled by corporations. I believe that it "works pretty well" without limiting access to information and entertainment.

Rule #1, if the GOP rides an argument, successfully and to completion of an election, it will be as dead (to them) as the horse I would say they treated it as when they were beating it like a drum during said election season.
