House OKs bill allowing more offshore oil drilling

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The House of Representatives on Tuesday night passed an energy bill clearing the way for more oil drilling off U.S. coasts, but not nearly as much as Republican leaders wanted.

I kind of understand why they did it; it's actually kind of sneaky when you read the provisions in the bill. The oil companies do need to be drilling on the land they've already got, and anything beyond that they're going to need to jump through major hoops to be able to touch.

We'll see how this goes.

This is sneaky. I like it.

It would be like crafting a bill that creates tax cuts for the wealthy but also requires them to prove they own two or fewer houses to qualify for the cut.
