It saddens me that I share my name with this woman.

Also, UGH the holes!

Ticks struggle and twitch and flail at being removed from their host, too. Doesn't mean women should be barred from getting them removed from their bodies.

But clearly those women chose to walk outside, so they should be forced to provide vital nutrients for that tick for however long it needs them. Dirty walkers shouldn't have left the house in the first place, and now they need to take responsibility for their actions.

Of course. It's the same with leeches. If she didn't want to get leeches, she shouldn't have been wading out into that water so provocatively.

As the machine turns on, suddenly Abby goes into emotional shock. She describes the fetus as desperately running away from the metal device inside the womb, pushing and kicking in the opposite direction as it obviously is scared for its life.

...I somehow doubt the veracity of Ms. Johnson's description.

it obviously is scared for its life.

I can see a fetus moving away from stimulus -- not "running," but moving, as any organism would.

But "obviously scared for its life"?!

I really can't believe that a 13-week-fetus is capable of being afraid for its life. That's too much, waaay too much, projecting.

Yeah, this kind of implies a level of environmental and cognitive awareness I'm not quite willing to ascribe to a fetus.
