I try not to be mean to the poor shmucks ringing the bells at the grocery store, but I make it a point to explain why I don't give.

I just kind of avoid them since I know it's personally not their fault the organization is so homophobic. But maybe next time I'll stop and tell them why.

I've got limited funds to begin with, so what I do give isn't going to such a homophobic group.

Same here. I try to target a few good charities I can afford each year and stick to those (though I think they waste it all on sending me crap in the mail all the time, but that's another issue).
