Brandon Bitner: Anti-gay bullying leads to another tragic teen suicide

MIDDLEBURG, Penn. - Anti-gay bullying has reportedly claimed another teen life.

Brandon Bitner, 14, of Mount Pleasant Mills, Penn., walked 13 miles from his home early Friday morning to a busy intersection and threw himself in front of an oncoming tractor-trailer after leaving a suicide note at his home, according to The Daily Item.

How can people continue to say that bullying is a natural part of growing up and keep turning a blind eye?

Do they just choose to ignore all the news around them and go "WELL SHUCKS, IT DIDN'T HAPPEN TO ME SO OBVIOUSLY IT'S NOT IMPORTANT?" Jesus Christ on a pogo stick, why can't they understand that hurting people - regardless of whether it's a physical, emotional, or mental attack - is wrong?

This kind of thing has probably been happening for ever in society's that deem Gay as bad/evil/disgusting. It is just the fact that we have the world wide web that ppl are hearing about it. I hope the fact that it is now in the forefront of social audience that it will change ppls personal behaviors about bullying.
