I don't really think she's anti-choice tbh (2 years ago she said it was an absurd that abortion wasn't decriminalized)... I recommend clicking on the Brazil tag and reading the article on abortion.
This was a really dirty campaign and they really tried using her position of pro-decriminalization against her. I hate the she and her party caved and started saying something else during the campaign because not only it was desperate, I suspect it was a lie :-p. But that's what you get when some assholes try to mix abortion with an election for the higher executive office in a very Christian country.
Plus being pro-choice in Latin America is basically unheard of, especially since the abortion laws in most of those countries are far more restrictive than ones in the US (*cough*Chile where it's illegal all the time no matter what)
In Brazil, the pro-choice crowd oscillates between 10 and 20 percent. Not a big magnet for votes. And complete rejection reaches between 30 and 40 percent. Most people like it the way it is (free in case of rape, serious malformations and risk to the mother's life).

I'm being dumb about this map. Everytime I see it, I go wait wat until I remember that we're still talking abot Brazilians, and not other nations voting for our presidents 8DD

LOL. And <3 at the love affair between Brazil and Argentina right now, I have a feeling we've never been so close (as people, not governance). Partners in crime!
