For the record, I believe in the American melting pot. My wife was born in Mexico, English is her second language, and she didn’t become an American citizen until she was in her twenties. For that reason, and others, my family is more racially diverse than the bus passengers in “Speed.”
I always love it how people feel the need to put in this kind of shit. As if it somehow mitigates the asshattery that precedes or follows it.
Director Robert Rodriguez’s spoof trailer for “Machete” was easily the best part of his and Quentin Tarantino’s failed attempt to return to those glorious days of early ‘70s exploitation flicks with 2007’s “Grindhouse.”
False. That was the trailers for Don't! and Thanksgiving.
And so what if white people are portrayed negatively, especially in a parody? Sometimes you have to be hit over the head to see the truth about something.
I was lol'ing at the ONTD member who started talking about how she (a white person) was bullied and EXPERIENCED INTENSE RACISM by the mean Mexican kids in her neighborhood.
"I WAS A MINORITY OKAY??? I TOTES KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE!!!"
