Does anyone remember the older Old Spice ads (I don't know the actor's name, but it was an older white guy)? Why didn't those commercials come up for discussion?

I distinctly remember a commercial where he was sitting on a blanket, having a picnic, and taking about how Old Spice was perfect for manly men and then his young, blonde girlfriend comes into frame, his kisses her, and...that was basically it. She was his arm candy in the worst way. The was really nothing to the commercial other than that.

These commercials, on the other hand, are completely over the top, sometimes random, and are poking fun at gender stereotypes. The past commercials actually fed into them, imo.

I am a woman and I love the ads. They make me smile and make me think about Old Spice, which I used to hate the scent of. Hence the ads have done their job. Great piece of viral marketing

p.s the fact that OldSpice guy is tall, dark and handsome with a great voice also helps!
