The far right Slovak National Party commissioned billboards showing a dark-skinned man with tattoos and an inflammatory message: "Vote SNS so we don't feed those who don't want to work."

This coming from a party led by a man who routinely robbed stores and stole cars in the 70s, and later barely attended Parliament sessions (which is, y'know, your JOB) and allegedly had his signature forged on the attendance list.

when i told my husband, his entire face blanched and i watched the life drain from his eyes....he didn't realize how bad the hatred still was in europe. europe has this reputation for being very progressive, yet things like this still occur.

These fascist fucks make my blood run cold, I fucking hate how nobody acknowledges what happened to the Roma in the Holocaust, and I am sick and fucking tired of seeing people who would never dream of letting their racism toward other groups out in the open denigrating the Roma and other groups classified as Gypsies. Not that latent racism is any more okay, but the fact that it's considered widely acceptable to be openly racist against them... ffffuck. I hate people.

other groups classified as Gypsies

Do legal documents actually use that word? It sounds so offensive to my ears, I cringe every time I hear it.

Sorry, I wasn't clear enough; I meant classified as Gypsies by the dumbfucks who try to defend things like using the word "gypped" by going "OMFG BUT A GYPSY STOLE MY WALLET IN BARCELONA ONCE".

Huh, that's interesting. I've never heard the term refer to anyone other than Roma people here.
