Keith Olbermann being a blowhard at perceived sleights, truly a first.
I at least like the point he makes about 'fair' news not being objective news, just polished opinion pieces that ask two sides what they have to say about it and refuse to report any hard fact that might condemn one or the other. Which is bad for, well, being journalistic, but totally awesome for advertisers since it typically ropes in viewers regardless of political affiliation or worldview (except for the wacky right).
Still kinda funny to hear the point being made from punditry though, which is exemplar of the idea of opinion news taken to crazy levels.
Yeah, he's being a bit ridiculous, and generally tends to be during that particular segment of his show. He originally had wished her well when the announcement of her leaving CNN.
However, I am annoyed at Campbell Brown claiming she had "no spin", when she's regularly spoken out against others attacking Fox News, without mentioning her husband is a Fox News correspondent; and while she's long attacked other network's opinion shows, she stood fully behind Lou Dobbs and his. No bias my ass.
Haha, Olbermann is one to talk, but if Campbell Brown really gave a shit about spin she wouldn't have taken a $$$$$$$$ contract with CNN of all people in the first place. There are outlets for real news, they just won't pay her as much or give her that fancy studio lighting.
Campbell Brown went on and on about MSNBC being the exact same as Fox, except for liberals. She never gave evidence to prove her point, she ignored the inflammatory remarks made by Fox and never once mentioned that her husband was a Fox news contributor. For a woman who went on about how her show was no bias, no bull, she wasn't actually a neutral newsperson. I could wax lyrically about how MSNBC is not the left Fox as well as CNN's slow fall downwards but I'm hungry and tired so I'll just leave you with some Olber-dancing.
I'd argue that MSNBC isn't the left Fox because it remains with the same neo-liberal views and corporatist posturings, just with some punditry from another party's perspective. The normal news hours are just like CNN's pretty much. But they do benefit in a way from Fox News, in that the presentation of Fox News lets MSNBC seem like a bastion of fair journalism to their base, and MSNBC lets Fox News seem like a bastion of fair journalism to their base, when they're both ad-driven corporate news networks that self-censor for palatable and non-challenging stories that will appease advertisers, corporate boards, CEOs, and establishment figures they desire access to

Don't forget that MSNBC fired Phil Donahue from his leading program for his anti-war views, or the way MSNBC ignored *their own rules* in order to exclude Kucinich from their primary debate.
