We have the same political ignorance in Canada. When there was talk of a coalition in Canada, so many people (helped in no part by the Tories themselves who were deliberately misinforming the public) were like "it's undemocratic! Stephen Harper is the elected leader!"....uh no, he's not. The only people who elected Stephen Harper were the people in his riding. It really bugged me.

Exactly. I'll be honest & say that I only really started following politics closely in the past month (shame on me) but seriously, I don't think he's as bad as people make him out to be. He always seems to be scapegoated for everything.

He's been really pissing me off lately. I can't help but feel a little miffed at the amount of power the Lib Dems are wielding at the moment, especially considering how they appear to be fucking their voters over.
