Can we all just calm down? Or perhaps that's not possible in this 24/7 news/comment/blog/tweet age in which we all now live. Hyperbole rules. Frenzy is the norm. Memories are short.

Meh. He's well known as a miserable, grumbly bastard with a bit of a temper, this probably wont change anything. In a way it's sort of admirable: presumably people are voting for him for his abilities to lead rather than/despite of his public image.

You know twatface Cameron and "has lots of sex" Clegg have said similar stuff after public meets - Brown just had the misfortune of still having a mic on and the press hearing it.

I can't believe that people think that there are any politicians who have never said anything rude about a potential voter when they thought nobody was listening. Seriously, they all have. Every single damn one of them. Even the nice ones. Even the boring ones. I mean, it's not like us reg'lar folk don't say rude things about annoying people behind their backs. Sometimes, we even get caught, alas. MPs are only human. And yes, this makes me like him more too. I'd rather have a real person for a Prime Minister than some polished PR thing.
