You can already hear the gears grinding from all the back pedaling. In the end there will be a few obtuse statements and the hope that something will come along and knock the whole story off the front page. The US has everything to lose from bad realtions with Russia, Russia nothing it needs. That;s why putin knew it would work.

And they "need" to punish Russia why...? because it did something without Bush's approval? Because Bush & Cheneye are stalwart defenders of human rights and can't stand to see Georgia's armies be repulsed by a Russian offensive..? Yeah....

lol.... Man, I just can't believe that the Bush admin. can't get all those inferior countries to do our bidding! Don't they know that we say something we mean serious business? What a shocker!!
