I agree with the OP, it's a shame they couldn't've all just shut up and let the one black woman in the room actually share her experience as a black woman, instead of shutting her down and telling her she's wrong about something they can't possibly know about.

Melissa Harris Lacewell wrote an article on the portrayal of black families in movies last year that puts it all in a much more eloquent manner. Baba Wawa needs to go take her nap.
