Gross if it is to build a MEGA church. If the money goes to help people(homeless, sick, etc) then great!

Build? But the church already exists. Do you have a source that says the $900k deficit arose from church construction/additions/maintenance?

The letter cited the church's accomplishments in 2009 and detailed how the donations would be used, including the church's food pantry, homeless ministry, counseling and support groups.

I feel like I'm missing something here. I don't doubt that the church is costly to maintain (perhaps excessively), and I know Rick Warren's personal views are controversial, but there are many worse ways to spend money.

Hrm. It doesn't sound like he asked from the pulpit, but from a letter posted online. And as much as I dislike the man and these "megachurches", pretty much every church has to rely on donations from its members to stay afloat. Many have stewardship drives not only for the charities the churches participate in, but for staff salaries, purchasing supplies, and the upkeep of the building.

How did this freak run a $1M deficit, isn't it the most "popular" church in California?

The great thing about him though is that everytime he lies, it takes 2.5 seconds to find him contradicting himself on youtube.

Dear OP: I'd bet my car that the money won't go to helping anyone rather than pushing the agenda.

That was my first thought too. If his church is so "generous" WHY IS IT $900k IN THE RED GOOD LORD.

Makes me wonder what's going on behind the scenes, it really does. And where all that money went.

This would be the second time in 2 days I've been needing to make a "Not buying it" macro.

I live in L.A. I find this BS to be Nth power. I am, completely grateful I don't live behind The Orange Curtain.

I'm still ticked that Obama further legitimized this fucker at inaguration. The B.S. "Town hall debate" was rigged if you recall. McCain's "cone of silence"

ahhhhhh, sorry about all the air quotes, but ew.
