I wasn't aware of this. All the same, I don't think that the groups that represent sex workers should also represent victims of human trafficking. People already conflate the two enough as it is.

Yeah, that would be a bad situation. I think the only people who were issued those cards are people who were invited to the climate change conference, and I would hope that they would all be decent human beings who wouldn't do something like that... but you never know. :/

Still, I think the sex workers are making a good point - the mayor shouldn't have even brought this up because it has nothing to do with the conference.

I wonder how prostitution is regulated in Denmark to keep STDs down. Routine testing?

I'm not sure that it is regulated - they've just decriminalized the act of exchanging money for sex. Things like pimping and operating a brothel are still illegal, but prostitutes who invite customer into their homes are within the law.

Nah, they handle that themselves. Some clinics give sex workers VIP passes to let them skip the waiting. But apparently there is growing pressure on the sex workers to perform services without condoms, which I guess probably hits the streetwalkers worst. Maybe a little regulation would not be so bad.

That's terrible. D: It would be great if people could show a little regard towards their own health, if they can't bring themselves to think of the health of the sex workers.
