Is there anything in this country that ISN'T "indoctrination" to these people at this point? So far we've covered movies, the media, volunteerism, doing well in your education, reading, and now school fucking lunch.

Have you seen it? I'm wary as fuck of Micheal Moore, but I loved it.

(Well, except for the minor "Capitalism CRASHED THIS PLANE!!" bits.)

I was planning on waiting for it to come out on DVD, but I might check it out because my prof recced it and I like my prof. I generally like Moore's films, even if they are a bit over the top at times. I loved Sicko.

Nice, "Oh, FFS" was the exact same thing that ran through my head. Why don't these assholes see any problem with schools serving fishsticks on Fridays during Lent? I don't hear no ZOMG CATHYLICK INDOCTRUNAYSHUN from them. I think their idiotic rage is slipping.

My half-Jewish school district had Fish Friday every week - not just during Lent. (We were half-Catholic, too).

We also had matzoh and Kosher offerings during High Holidays.

HOW DID I GROW UP SANE??

oh shut up Jowly!

seriously though, I am not a vegetarian and I love my meat, but having a meal without meat once in a while is a GOOD IDEA. It's saving the schools money, getting healthier food in the kids, and is also better on the environment. Lord.

A way to cut costs for schools that doesn't involve cutting teachers, textbooks or other necessary tools for learning, plus fighting childhood obesity, and getting more vegetables into kids who may not have access to them*. Where is the downside, again?

*I lived near Baltimore for most of my life. It is an absolute Urban Desert.
