As far as I know, it is indeed true, but that doesn't make it any less of a cliche in the way that these and other people use it. That's what I meant; I was referring to the "I am a special snowflake" conceit, which as far as I'm concerned is a cliche.
From what I understand, it's a theory because it's never been disproven, but it's also extremely likely that snowflakes with the same pattern would exist, simply because of geometry. But there sure are a hell of a lot of different combinations =P
My brother and his wife are doing invitro fertilization to try to have a baby. My brother got fixed and his wife is approaching 40 and has never been pregnant, so we don't know if it's going to work. I've braced myself for the surrogacy conversation, just in case.
I don't want kids of my own (and if I changed my mind later, I'd much rather adopt... though our adoption system needs reform just as much as health care does but that's a different story altogether).
However, I would be willing to act as a surrogate if circumstances led me in that direction. In a bizarre way, it's more or less for the same reason why I'm registered as an organ donor; if I cannot otherwise be a significant contributor to the species or society, let me do this so I am useful, so that someone else can benefit where they otherwise would not. It's hard to explain further, but there it is.
Same here. Pregnancy seems to much like a Alien movie for my taste.
Not to mention the whole feeling the baby move and being able to SEE it doing so (in the late stages of pregnancy) grosses me out to the point of almost being sick... ._. Baby showers are really awkward for me.

Embryos alive, seems christian based in a sense.. no gays, no single women and no non-christians.
How does that make a snowflake?
