IDK, we need to see what the economic and political climate is in late 2010. I get the feeling that by the time elections roll around, we'll have moved through the worst of the recession and the health care bill will likely have passed (and that's not taking into consideration any other important and pro-active legislation that may pass).
The only hope of Republicans right now is that there are no changes and things get worse. Because if things get better, not only are they not going to be able to take credit for them, their opponents are going to make it painfully clear that they stood in the way of progress for their own political benefit.
So long as the the numbskulls remain the voting minority, it's no skin off my nose. I just don't want us to have a surge of stupidity like the one that resulted in Dubya being in charge.
