Yeah I know that.

But I got no extra money, am a grad student, can't qualify for medicaid and the only insurance people are offering me is catastrophic which will just take my money and not give any thing worth a damn.

My best option for quality care if the government plan. I'm aching for it to be implemented. I've been on government care before (tricare for military families) so I know it's good.

Right, and I understand and share your sentiments. My comment was directed more at the people who are like "THEN WHAT IS THE POINT OF REFORM, THEN????" when faced with the idea of the public option failing.

True.

It's just that I'm bitching and moping about the public option because I KNOW the private companies will find a way to play their bitch ass games and nothing will really get done. They will tie it in boggled legal speak for years before anything really changes.

The government I can sue more easily and more readily than a private organization and they are held to stricter laws and regulations.

I'm not even sure I can put an ounce of trust into the co-ops. My electricity is co-op provided but they still manage to squeeze us because they are the only ones who can provide it to us out here. Same for the phone company.

I will freak the fuck out as much as I like, thanks. I don't have health insurance; I feel like I have the right.

I have insurance, but I have relatives who don't and am very concerned about their welfare, so I also reserve the right to freak the fuck out as well! (^_~)

I agree. I'm in medical debt up to my eyeballs and can't get the surgeries I need because I can't afford insurance. I haven't gone to the fucking gastrointestinologist for follow up care on my multiple surgeries I had as a kid because I can't afford it. Dying because people think that if the middle class can afford health care you don't have to worry about the poor people doesn't sound like a good fucking option to me.

I'm so sorry to hear that. :/ I too suffer from untreated injuries that I can't get help with. Mine are not life-threatening, just quality-of-life threatening, so at least there's that. I can handle limping, I suppose, because my bad foot isn't going to kill me.

I can't fathom how anyone can tell people to calm down and not "freak the fuck out," frankly. There is no distance for me on this issue. It's real.

Yeah.

Also, remember when a big part of the health care reform debate was not just about the uninsured, but the underinsured...? Those who technically do have insurance, but it's very expensive, has bad copays and won't cover a lot...? :/

This so fucking much! Yes, health care is extremely important, but it doesn't solve anything to take your ball and go home, especially when there are plenty of party members who ARE on the right side of this issue even if the leadership has their heads shoved up the insurance industry's ass.
