I don't think the media has a liberal bias or a conservative bias so much as it has a bias toward overreacting to short-term trends and a tendency toward groupthink.
Truer words have never been spoken.

Also, on the healthcare issue; I have to agree that people are just running around like headless chickens, making outrageous claims about something they've never even experienced and being basically scared of the change they so desperately wanted that millions of them voted it in.
Give the man some time!

Well, I disagree, Mr. Silver. I think it's kind of ludicrous they're going on vacation before voting. I'm not doom and gloom, but I am rather disappointed.

Good. Er, good as in, this recess could be a good thing. It gives us insurance deprived and under-insured folks more time to bombard their offices with calls and e-mails. Let the undecideds know that no vote form them = no vote from us come election time.

Healthcare reform support rally in Austin, Texas.

Saturday at 1PM, 11th & Lavaca

I'm curious to see how many people will be there. Will report back on what I observe and hear.

I think it is very easy for people to say "Oh, it's okay to wait on healthcare so the senate can take their vacation" when the people saying it have healthcare and have the ability to even leave their jobs for a vacation. Some people don't seem to realize that those are luxuries to many Americans.
