It would have been made clear when he went through any FBI and CIA background checks as a Senator for his security clearances. Had he lied about his citizenship then, it would have been a HUGE scandal that would have destroyed his career long before he ever ran for President.

These birther people are idiots that need to stop poisoning the gene pool. He's a citizen. Period.

That too. But for the purposes of his political career, since these birther morons are convinced that he ran for office and won as a non-citizen, pointing to the background checks he would've undergone as a Senator makes sense to me. :)

to me, talking about *overthrowing* your government and wanting to annex yourself and make yourself a little independent nation isn't patriotism. Engaging in the government in legal - and, yaknow, sane - ways to bring about the change you want is. :/
