I know you're predicting like three comments, bb, but it's so looooong and dry :( I need scandal or revolution to keep me entertained. Having a rough time comprehending more than 140 characters.

It is scandal though... in a way... Geithner vs Bair! There's even a Batman photoshop. And the additional hilarity of a Republican being more liberal than Summers and Geithner! And the Girl Power factor. Also.

Yes, I do like her a lot. I remember seeing an Elizabeth Warren interview last year, when Bush was pres., and she was touting Bair's proposals, which no one in the GOP (or even Dems, it seemed like) were paying attention to.

Bair and Warren have been two people who consistently made sense.

she's fierce

Why there's been such a political focus on making sure we're not unduly helping borrowers but then we're providing all this massive assistance at the institutional level, I don't understand it," she said. "It's been a frustration for me."

She said this at a press conference with Hank Paulson and Bernanke looking on.

"Geithner and senior officials at Treasury believe that the root of the crisis was liquidity"

No. The root of the crisis was GREED. Greed by corporations. Greed by mortgage lenders. Greed by banks. Greed by consumers. GREED
