But Zelaya is ~evil~, the military is just defending the law, this is so surprising and out of character!

ugh @ that whole ~military defending the rule of law~ excuse. i can't believe people still say that, even after everything that's happened in LA as a result of the military intervening and ~defending the rule of law~

Shiiiit. I was hoping it wouldn't come to this (though I should have figured it would).

So much for turning the corner on a dark history in Latin America. Fuck :/

At least it seems like the international community got it right this time, must count for something.

Yeah, that and "b-but he's a leftist~!" isn't a good enough excuse for a military coup anymore now that the Cold War is over

OK, not to minimize the seriousness of this, but, I clicked on the "scumbags" tag and am laughing. I wasn't aware of such a tag.

Fucking hell, is this seriously spinning outta control like this? Seriously? FFS.

I dunno why, but I had more faith in the idea that it wouldn't get this bad. Not so soon, anyway. I dont know.

FUCK.

The pictures and videos from the weekend made it kinda clear that this would happen. I'm more worried about what's gonna happen when Zelaya returns to be honest.

I viewed a sampling of the footage after posting my initial comment and sadly, found myself coming to that conclusion. It's equal parts infuriating and terrifying. Im worried aboutm how "the other shoe will drop" upon Zelaya's attempted return, too. JFC.
