Huckabee's a jackass, and as much as I love Jon, he sucked in this "debate" as well.

I think Jon did well. I literally cheered when Huckabee said 'Who owns a life?' and Jon said 'Well, does that mean the state owns the woman's life?' IN YO FACE.

'Well, does that mean the state owns the woman's life?'

THAT is exactly it, isn't it. Pro-lifers seeing it as saving a life, but why does the mother's life count less as soon as some sperm hits her fallopian tubes. My uterus doesn't have a "Property of the US Government" stamped on it and I intend for it to stay that way

I appreciate Huckabee not foaming at the mouth when it comes to his side on this, and many other issues... but it still doesn't make him any less kooky.

But has a post been made about Moussavi "awaiting martyrdom?" I would submit it myself, but I am at work and don't have time to html.

Well, just because I find him likable doesn't mean I forget he's nutty. You can like someone while still disagreeing with everything they believe in. People have given me shit for saying that in the past but I don't understand how someone can say they're open minded while completely dismissing someone for their political/moral/religious/whatever beliefs.

To quote the President, you can disagree without being disagreeable.

It infuriates me how every one of Huckabee's arguments gets down to "slippery slope" logic. He seems nice and calm and rational and all, but the logical conclusion of legalizing abortion is not people killing their grandparents. That's just idiocy.

I just wish he'd be intellectually honest and say that his position is solely based on his religious beliefs, and then accept that a good portion of this country does not share his religious beliefs.

Well that makes him even nuttier doesnt it
He wants this to be made into legislation... a logical leap there is to the fact that he wants to impose his beliefs on everyone else.

Exactly. But if he allowed himself to recognize that fact, do you think he'd have a problem with it? I don't know. I would hope so, but I doubt it. So, he has to pretend it doesn't all come down to religion by constructing these ridiculous "logical" arguments.

Seriously, I think, despite his affable nature, this guy is my very least favorite Conservative.

No, no, bb, don't make up your mind just yet! I mean, come on, there's still Ann Coulter, O'Reilly... Hannity.. eh, eh?

It's just fucking ridiculous, isn't it? Pro-life is pro-choice and the key word there is CHOICE. If legislature was passed against abortion; that's the day freedom dies. You're FORCING women. It's a woman's rights issue. It's a human rights issue. I do NOT understand someone who is completely against abortion 100% full stop.
