Kucinich, Gravel, McKinney, and Nader supported queer rights... and we all knew their chances of getting elected.

The DOJ are only doing their jobs; which is to argue the law of the land, and sadly DOMA is currently the law of the land.

The path to overturning DOMA is not thorugh the Supreme Court. It has to be repealed through Congress.

However, right now the president is fighting to improve health care for Americans in need and he's not going to muddy that fight by fighting on another, inevitably highly publicised front.

It is shitty, but right now the fight is in New York and New Jersey and California and every other state that has even a remote chance of passing gay marriage litigation.

I'm still willing to trust at this point that he's got a plan and will do the right thing. Even if that means it won't happen until after he's re-elected. He is a smart man and I believe that he's intelligently playing the game right now.
