Nothing says family values like pro wrestling.

Also, many conservatives aren't that happy with your brand of Republicanism anyway so I wouldn't talk about "true Republican".

I wish you people were old enough to remember the WWE back when it was still the WWF.

Honest to God, it's like the difference between Silver Age Justice League of America comics and the first issue of Rob Liefeld's Youngblood. It was still hokey as all hell, but instead of championing heels with sociopathic stage personas, pro wrestling's biggest star back then was Hulk Hogan, back when he was young and had a non-fucked-up family and was telling his "little Hulkamaniacs" to take their vitamins, say their prayers and listen to their parents.

And yet, amusingly, people complained more about comics corrupting our children in 50's than they do now.

It says a lot about how tightly wrapped the 1950s were that Marilyn Monroe has been retroactively enshrined as some sort of saucy vamp in the collective memory of popular culture, when anyone who actually saw her films would know that her entire persona revolved around being such a little girl lost that her characters didn't even realize their own sex appeal.

huck is looking like he's gaining that weight back

To be fair to Huck, that's a difficult struggle, no matter how much lipo or stomach-stapling you have done, and the bitch of it is that, for all the stereotypes about fat people being lazy, you're actually more likely to gain that weight back if you're working too hard at your job.

how did he lose the weight? did he have surgery or just diet and exercise?

I honestly forget, but for him to have lost as much weight as he did, some component of exercise was probably involved, and exercise is one of the first things to get cut when you're working overtime.

Well that's just great, because when I think politics, I think WWE.

See, I think that makes him more a SUPERHERO than a wrestler, though. :)
