French branch accused of preying on vulnerable people for financial gain in second fraud case in six years

I think any religion that requires you to pay a certain amount of money for a higher and higher standing (be it more enlightenment, or getting those pesky aliens out of your soul, or w/e) is super shady. Legitimate religions, in my mind, are open to people of all economic standing.

I agree. That's one of the biggest problems I have with Scientology, they target the super-rich. It reveals a lot about their goals.
