Yeah, except he's Mormon. Mittens would not approve.

Really? Romney would be easy to beat.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they tossed out Romney as a sacrificial lamb if the Obama presidency even goes moderately well. Unless some major shit happens to make everything suck, I think he'll probably cruise to reelection.

They might toss out Palin for sacrifice, though, since I think a lot of the establishment hates her guts but the GOP voters love her like crazy.

I agree on the jilted thing, but given the Republican mind set at the moment it's more likely to be Huckabee than Romney. My guess is Huckabee/Palin, unless there are some major changes between now and then. Even Huckabee/Ridge would be a no-go in the current atmosphere.

I was reading some of the comments on HuffPo and they were like "he's an unknown he doesn't have a chance"...did they some how forget Obama was an unknown too? I think he will definitely be someone to look out for in 2012, but unless the Republicans start being more accepting I can't see him getting the nomination without him selling his soul like McCain in 2008. We shall see!

The sad fact is that, in this age of extreme negative campaigning (which really began in the Gingrich era), having little to no history in politics is an asset, and being an unknown makes you a smaller target. (How stupid is that?) They'll nail you on anything and everything that you've ever done, and if you've done nothing, they'll nail you for inexperience. Amazingly, sometimes both.

And the political operatives will keep destroying the soundness of the way we choose our leaders, and turning it into an WWF match, as long as we keep lapping it up. Sadly, we really do have the government we deserve.
