I would LOVE trains everywhere. They're so much simpler and cheaper than airplanes.

I am ESPECIALLY excited about possible Portland-Boston-Albany-Chicago lines. I've got friends in Albany and about to go to Chicago for school, so the idea of being able to see them without having to worry about having a car and gas money and boarding passes and takeoffs and... sigh. ♥ I love trains, can you tell?

Yes please!

Although I do wish they'd bring back a route that doesn't make me add an extra day going backwards to Chicago or up the California coast to get to the Pac NW.

Hah! I'm in Nebraska too and I was just going to say that. :D

But the train up the California coast is at least a pretty ride.

I would disagree. They don't like Amtrak.

That would be like saying Americans don't like cars when all you offer is 1980 Chevy Astros.

well, I would have to say that the individual and his/her car is VERY ingrained into the American mind set. That's why Americans don't car pool either. I was in Spain a few years ago and someone joked,"Americans would drive around their houses if they were big enough". I had to agree. :(

Which is sad, because trains = awesome. And cars are not going to be a good thing in the future . . .
