(Axelrod) wanted to dictate how banks would spend their rescue money. And he prevailed over top administration aides who wanted to replace bank executives and wipe out shareholders at institutions receiving aid.

because nothing assures the american public like the shareholders (namely people with stock portfolios, life insurance and 401Ks) having to pay the price in this debacle. Yea I'll be all willing to invest in the stock market after that *rolls eyes*

and as for dictating how banks spend rescue money? didn't we see what a great job the gov't does with the Iraq war and Katrina? what makes you think they'd be any better with oversight?

Some oversight, maybe.. but dictating every dime? BAD PLAN.

Axelrod needs to STFU.

YOU GUYS OBAMA IS 10 MINUTES AWAY FROM MY HOUSE!!!

It fucking sucks that I couldn't get tickets. I am also shocked that he got a HUGE welcome right now from my Red as Hell county.

And lol at the racist sheriff from this town not being there. Hmm...I wonder why? ;)

I think it's because he's keeping to his promise to reach out to and talk to everyone, and not just people who supported him.
