Dude, me too. Science and my brain are like oil and water. I struggled in like...basic Biology lol. Which is strange 'cause now I'm dating a science teacher.
That gave me chills. It was rooted in his dedication to science helping us meet these ends, but it was also about the initiative To take absolute charge of our future. Just... Guh.
a bit OT... It's absolutely scary and heartbreaking that public schools recoil at the thought of teaching real critical thinking. All that standardized tests do is train you to become a cog. You learn absolutely nothing except to take orders and accept what you're told. I was lucky enough to have had teachers in high school that encouraged me to question and to question as much as I could. They strayed from the curriculum, but I really felt that theirs were the classes that I really was educated in.
I sincerely hope that this administration restores and respects the roles that intellectuals play in society. The past administration really did everything they could to diminish the influence of scientists in public policy, a difficult thing to understand when it is so obvious that scientists (alongside mathematicians and artists) are critical in keeping our country at the forefront of worldwide innovation. Science haters can dismiss facts all they want, their agendas only serve to keep us behind the advances of other nations. Hopefully, these will be better times for logic.
