Like husband like wife yeah? Nice to hear she can afford to not only go on vacation but wear diamond encrusted rings while they're printing notes so fricken big to combat hyperinflation my head is spinning.

The Mugabes are disgusting, horrible people - granted, I have a bias because I really liked Lumumba (person, not the movie, although that's good too) and he murdered the dude.

Not only are average citizens not able to buy pretty much anything, their farmland has been destroyed by forced planting from the government that makes it impossible for them to feed their families.

Nope. Zimbabwe wasn't formerly part of a nation called Rhodesia after a racist megalomaniac. The country was not practically ruled by an extremely small white minority until the 1980s, before Mugabe (who also turned out to be a corrupt megalomaniac) took over with a promise of soveriegnty from imperialism but instead ruled the country with an Iron fist. The Zimbabweans clearly had a chance to create a prosperous democracy, and it wasn’t at all like 30 years ago they were stuck between a rock and a hard place. It's clearly their fault and has nothing to do with the historical context of their country ( ... )
