Why is this bullshit? Given the current economic climate I don't think it's particularly unusual that they need to make cutbacks.

I actually think it's bad management practices like the first article suggested, because it is honestly very difficult to get any revenue out of a site like LJ. Certainly some of it is the economy straining at it, but the bs-call is more about how this article only addressed that one CEO got booted and ignored the other staff members that got laid-off as well.

Ah yes, I'll agree that it sucks that they didn't bother to mention the other folks that got affected by this. That's usually the case, unfortunately. "Forget the little people, what's the CEO going to do for money??"
