Bobby Jindal is NOT going to happen. The GOP will NOT be that enlightened come 2012.

I have to agree. That ship sailed when their rallying cry became "Don't trust darkie!"

I really can't think of any serious contenders at this point. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens over the next few years.

If I'm not mistaken Sikhs and Indians were also being discriminated against post-9/11 because they looked like Arabs. At airports, etc.

Gingrich should be RNC chair if they really want to get those seats back. He did it in '94 and could very well do it again.

Jindal is their best bet in 2012, IMO. He's smart and has done a pretty good job after the mess that was Blanco. But I'm not so sure how he'd do in some of those solidly RED states. He would need to do like Obama and win BROAD support and since he'd be running against an AfAm, I doubt he can peel off many minorities. So he'd be stuck trying to win over white women.

The GOP needs to kick the far right OUT of the party if they want to regain power. Sorry, but conservative principles are good only in theory. People who don't see the grey areas and are ignorantly steadfast are dragging the party down.

And none of this is going to matter is Obama does what I predict he will do which is KICK MAJOR ASS.

So good luck in 2016, GOP.

I agree with the assessment of the party. Conservatives were strongest when they played the fake-centrist line and dropped all the reactionary shit. They're alienating some of their strongest supporters by making the mistake of thinking that the loudest segment of the party is also the most numerous.

I don't really think you want Gingrich at the head of the party if you want to kick out the far right. Dude is at least partially responsible for making the far right powerful.
