I feel really stupid, but I didn't know she was a lesbian.

Well I mean I thought at first but that would be making ASSUMPTIONS so I just didn't think either way!! Because I didn't want to go "short hair + butchy clothing = LESBO"

:(

I must be a really miserable specimen of a human being...I don't like her.

She seems very down-to-earth, though, and she's much better than Keith.

The "dry sense of humor" of hers always falls flat with me, though, and it just seems really awkward.

“We kind of forget we’re gay,” says Mikula. “We live in western Mass and New York and it’s very accommodating. Every once and a while I’ll say, ‘Oh my God, we’re gay.’ ”

ha, I love them.

Sometime last week, my 14 year old son padded into my office and said, "Who IS that woman on the tv?"

I told him it was Rachel Maddow.

He said, his voice full of admiration, "She's sarcastic and quirky. It's... distracting."

His eyes sort of glazed over as he seemed to contemplate this shiny new thing in his life, and he padded out.

I don't have the heart to break it to him. :)

Next you have to tell him that she likes vaginas. Then maybe she'll like her even more!

I don't expect he's that sophisticated yet. Though I never know - he's a bit mature for his age.
