technically he can't endorse him, it is illegal. But, he can state the opinion freely- obviously.

Unlike McCain who was trying to collect money from Russia:)

If Obama wins, then black people the world over will be able to see how a gifted man has been able to smash through the ultimate glass ceiling.

THIS!!!! One of the reasons I think Obama winning would be so important, we see too many negative images regarding Black people, especially Black men. We need a positive, prominent and powerful force to represent Black men in our day and age.

I think it would benefit us abroad as well as home.

We are seen as monolithic in our culture and views, which is so far from the truth. I think the world would be able to see our cultural diversity if we expressed it with our highest office.

It would, it really would.

But I'm very sad because today I had someone ask me if Collin Powell had endorsed Obama just because he was Black. I internally facepalmed and explained no, he did it because he thinks the Repubs had run everything into the ground and Palin is scary.

In defense of the woman who asked me, I live in Japan and it was a Japanese woman who was reading a newspaper article on it and was boggled by the idea that someone would endorse someone like thought who was outside of their own party.

...she also asked me what was wrong with my country and why was this even a close race, because who in their right mind would want to vote for McCain/Palin. XD

And of course, the fact that he's a Tory is going to be completely overlooked.

But yeah, this piece is amazing.

Thank you. I thought he was a Tory, but I wasn't sure if I was misremembering.
