I was stressing about Irma earlier this week, but I'm relieved to report that so far (to the best of my knowledge), no one that I know in/near the path of the storm has been hurt.
Obviously there's been a lot of destruction, especially on the islands and south Florida, and it's not over yet - but I am so glad that everyone I know is okay.
Also RIP to 9/11 victims and my prayers to their families.
On this day of remembrance (Sept. 11th), I think it's also important to remember those who lost their lives after Sept. 11th 2001, yet also died as a result of the attacks (and are still dying).

I posted about this about a year ago: '9/11 health crisis: death toll from illness nears number killed on day of attacks'. (http://ontd-political.livejournal.com/11589712.html)
(Edited because sometimes I suck at writing things out...)
