And this is why I don't bother "understanding" racists. They gleefully want to understand nothing outside their bubble, and they will never be any better even if the rest of the world understands or somehow "tolerates" them, so there's no point. The sad thing is that all this is so obvious about Trump to anyone who has any power of observation - yet there he is, elected. The whole thing is such a blight on the world and cannot end soon enough.
