Dehumanization by Deification: On Kamala Harris and "Black Women Will Save Us"

My introduction to the politics of Kamala Harris came from the Sex Workers Outreach Project (SWOP) and other sex worker organizations and activists in the wake of the federal shutdown of Backpage’s adult section in January. the democratic party doesn't do well when it caters to corporatist, centrist republicans as seen in the recent election when hrc paraded all the republicans who endorsed her over nasty trump^^^ As the saying goes, if you put a fake Democrat up against a Republican, the fake Dem will lose every time. I just don't understand how some people (this isn't directed towards you specifically, because I think we have similar-ish politics) can turn their backs on any sort of (actual) justice. How can our society have economic justice without racial justice? How can we have racial justice without gender justice? How can we have gender justice without lgbt justice? How can we have lgbt justice without economic justice? I understand why someone might focus on one or a few specific forms of justice, but not why one might not care for other forms of justice at all (unless it's beneficial to them, I guess).

This this this! I don't want POC, gay and trans people, or all women to be killed for existing, I don't want poor people dying because they can't afford health insurance, I don't want civilians in other countries dying because the U.S. felt like starting a war that day. If I leave one of them out I feel like the rest of it is hollow.

You don't need to explain to me how black people experience economic disparity... given that I'm black.

I said above we need both and I'm not pitting them against each other. That's not a false dichotomy.

And yet you decided to explain racism to me as if I weren't as well...ok.
