I just called Marco Rubio's office and asked for him to oppose the AHCA. I know people are having differing experiences but the guy who answered the phone was pretty nice - he just sounded like he's already taken hundreds of the same message lol

Rubio. Ugh. I live in MS but am FL resident. Though I'm covered under Tricare I still need to call.

And health care is a basic human right. End of story.
As a Canadian who knows just how lucky we are with our health care system (yes, I know it's far from perfect, but when I think of and read about the alternative it's a no brainer).
I mean, this is the difference: roughly two years ago I fell on some ice and hurt my ankle. I couldn't walk on it all because of the pain so I knew there was a good chance it was broken. I went to the ER where I had an X-ray that showed it was broken & got a cast. I was referred to see an orthopedist which took only a week. The orthopedist recommended surgery so that I wouldn't have difficulty walking later on in life. It was considered pretty emergent surgery so I was called and operated on the next day.
...Which cost me 0.00$.
That's what a decent health care system does.
(The postscript is that I LOVE walking. I regulary take long walks. So having pain while walking would really have been terrible for me!)
