omg, she actually said she doesn't support a livable wage. I thought people were summarizing.

It's even more outrageous in the context of the entire quote. After saying she doesn't support a livable wage, she said what she does suport is "low taxes and less regulation" so that small businesses can "create good paying jobs." I was like, "Wait, WHAT?" Little bit of a disconnect there, lol!

I mean, there's no disconnect. She's saying that government shouldn't be setting wages, they should be making it possible for businesses to set good wages on their own, but that's stupid as hell conservatives will never admit that if capitalism is working as conceived, businesses, especially those with little to no competition, have no reason to up their overhead.

Yikes. Fuck this piece of trash (i.e. Handel).

Also, I believe that minimum wage should also be indexed to the cost of living (i.e. because otherwise inflation causes a reduction in the effective value of the wage, and politics tends to prevent quick adjustments when these are not automatic). I wish the left would fight for this too, because otherwise the discussion about a liveable wage becomes moot...

(NB: Indexed means that the wage would be increased yearly to compensate for inflation. (1))
