Because she didn't realize until recently just how screwed up the place is? (Hey, if you're born and raised in that environment, it takes a while. It also takes a lot of courage and honesty with yourself, so I applaud her.)
Honestly, there are a lot of possible scenarios here. I'm someone who came out of fundamentalism, too, and it was a long, strange trip. Props to this girl for standing up to the culture there.
Been having a pretty good week seeing our new president settle in. It feels like he's done more in the past week than the last president did in her entire time in office lol For the first time in a while, I'm feeling hopeful about this country's government.
I have my reservations (I've learned to take all politicians with a grain of salt) but damn if he isn't winning me over with his pets. He's adopting a dog that was neglected and set to be sold off as meat to encourage more people to adopt and his cat is also a stray that he adopted. He also has another bigger dog called Maru and he confessed during the campaign that when he gets drunk, he likes to cuddle with Maru in the front lawn and look at the moon together.
I own a car again! Its a 2012 Ford Focus Titanium Edition. I cant wait to start driving again WOOO! Also, the house fell through. It needed too much upgrading and after everything, we wouldn't have near enough money to make the needed changes so we passed. We are gonna take this time to spruce up this house and make it more homely. I HATE carpet so, so much. Its hard enough to keep it clean but pets make it harder.
