By the way, Amnesty International is asking the general public in the US to contact the state department and demand action

For the Canadians on the list, I don't know what the Canadian equivalent to the state department is -I tried looking it up but maybe I was using the wrong search terms?

For Canadians, writing/contacting our (federal) member of parliament can definitely be an option.
