My first thought was what about women who aren't in relationships? Like those who end up pregnant from someone they met and slept with a couple of times but the guy ditched out on them and the woman has no idea where he is (even if she wanted to deal with him).
Granted that's a specific example but still, this is not very well thought out. I'm scared for women in abusive relationships (either because of an abusive partner and/or an abusive family situation) where an abortion could potentially save them/not tie them to their abusive situation as much. Because you know the next thing that will go along with this is that 'being in a relationship means you can't be raped' and that 'going on a date/sleeping with him equals consent' and doesn't take into consideration situations where consent is forced and not really consent.
If you tried to bring that up, they'll just stamp their feet and declare, "Well, she should have thought about that before opening her legs!" bullshit (Because that's their go-to rebuttal). Really, what this boils down to, is men like this being intensely uncomfortable with women's sexuality being out of the bounds of their control, so they try to enact bills like this in an effort to make women conform to their sense of morality.
How exactly does this work? Will there have to be mandatory paternity tests? Cause all a woman has to do is bring in a male who claims to be the father to sign the form. (I'm not advocating for this horrible piece of legislation, just pointing out a flaw.)
I think it should definitely go down on the Maury Povich show. You ARE the daddy... now sign on the dotted line if you agree that the host you impregnated is allowed to terminate the pregnancy.
