even arguing that the penetration with the baton was "accidental."

Anyway, I was surprised the police are even being charged with anything. But I'm from the U.S., so.

"This action occurred in a very specific context during a skirmish with this boy, who is 6 feet 2 inches tall, and was struggling like the devil,"

People always do this to black people, turning us into some fearsome, superhuman monsters. Calm down, you coward. You're not good at your job.

On a more positive note, I remember learning about SOS Racisme in high school. Sometimes the U.S. education system is not so bad.

Probably the same thought gymnastics as 'I tripped and my dick somehow ended up in her vagina.'

When I read the title of this post, my first thought was to wonder what ethnic minority the victim belonged to.

Thanks for posting about this, OP.

I read about this and wanted to vomit. It's so horrible.

Apparently, France has the same kind of problems with police racism as the US. And they get acquitted there too.

thanks for posting; i've been following the story & it's so awful. at least in this case, hopefully the amount of media attention means that there will be some justice for theo. it's heartening, in light of all of the right-wing manifestations taking place in france in the past several years, to see people coming together against racism & police brutality as well.
