I panicked and deleted my original post because I remembered that my Ex read these forums sometimes. I got self-conscious (and as I've stated I'm depressed and in a fucked up mental space. I apologize, Mods.) Thank you for your support.
It's hard shit to own up to and harder to speak up about because - as I said before I deleted- nobody sees 'that side' of the other person. I've had so many 'well meaning' friends either literally turn away and/or leave the room when I start to talk about it or just completely avoid the topic at all - when they've know the both of us for YEARS- or better yet, ask and say the stupidest questions/comments;
"Wow. I had no idea .. this makes me question my own reality..." (because what really helps me is that distant look in your eye while mentally compare/contrast your own relationship woes to see if you can relate.
"Wait, what makes something abuse as opposed to just a fight" (let me google that for you...)
"Well, we know you're BOTH going through a hard time..." (

Ngl, I have been avoiding the news on TV like a plague since I got back from the Women's March, because it's too damned depressing. I'd rather read news on the internet, where I can pick what I want to read and glean what I need to know about the shitty stuff from scanning the headlines. On TV, ALL the shit is right in my face, and I just can't take it. D-8
