Based on the people I have seen spending most of my life in rural Maryland - which is a horrible fucking cesspool, by the way - I don't think fascism has gotten more popular in the States at all. I just think the fascists have lost all shame about it. Hell, the system is working in their favor. Most of these assholes are babyboomers anyway, and being a racist piece of shit doesn't magically come out of nowhere once you hit 50.
